Abstract

The optimization of a LTE cellular network deployed across the province of Santa Elena in Ecuador aims to enhance the performance of the communication system by applying different scheduling strategies. This improvement is intended to deliver a superior quality of packet transmission to network users. The optimization involves the implementation of Packet Scheduling strategies, namely Round Robin and Proportional Fair. For the successful application of these strategies, it is crucial to have accurate network planning, including terrain mapping, telecommunications equipment, radio and antenna parameters, transmitter distances, latitude, altitude, azimuths, mechanical tilt, and electrical tilt, among others. Utilizing the parameters meticulously studied and defined with the simulation software Atoll, various tests will be conducted to analyze network coverage through downlink and uplink links, employing each Packet Scheduling strategy.
